  • James Scott

    MANAGING DIRECTOR

    James has worked in the film and television business for over 20 years. He has worked on over 100 films in various capacities, including production, finance, distribution and worldwide sales.

    Most recently, he was an Executive Producer on the two ‘Fisherman’s Friends’ films and handled the worldwide distribution. The first film grossed over $10m at the UK box office and was the foundation for the launch of Circus Studios.

  • Mac Harwood

    SALES EXECUTIVE

    Mac graduated from the University of the West of England with a BA Hons in Filmmaking. After graduating, he produced short narrative films, documentaries and promotional videos for sports based charities.

    Following this, he worked in Media and Advertising at Publicis Group’s Spark Foundry before pursuing his passion for film by working under producers, James Spring and Shereen Ali, at Fred Films. During his time at Fred, Mac supported the production of ‘Come Away’, ‘Blithe Spirit’ and ‘Fisherman’s Friend’s: One and All’; with his role also extending to Blue Penguin where he worked as a Production Executive on the second season of ‘Hapless’.

  • James Spring

    DIRECTOR

    James has over 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry; most recently as founding Director and CEO of Fred Films and CEO of Blue Penguin Television. Prior to this, he was the CEO of Ealing Studios, running film and television production, finance, sales and distribution, and studio facilities. His production credits during this time include feature films such as 'Easy Virtue', 'Dorian Gray', 'Imagine Me and You', 'From Time to Time,' 'I Want Candy’, 'Valiant' and the highly successful 'St Trinian’s' franchise.

    More recently he is known for producing a number of hit, British, independent films including the 'Fisherman’s Friends' films, 'Finding Your Feet', 'Blithe Spirit', 'Come Away' and 'Crooked House'. And through Blue Penguin returning television shows such as 'Dark Matter' and 'Hapless'.

  • James Swarbrick

    DIRECTOR

    James has raised, structured and managed funds for over 130 productions since 2003, with a cumulative box office performance of well over $500m, including 4 time Oscar winning production ‘The King’s Speech’, as well as ‘The Guard’, ‘Sin City 2’, ‘Chef’ and ‘The Phantom of the Open’. James was also Associate Producer on ‘Wolf Hall’ and ‘The Dresser’.

    He has worked with many of the key players in the industry across both the major studios and the independent.
